ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY AT THE MOVIES
RC Theatres strives to offer all our customers an enjoyable movie experience. Devices are available at all locations for Closed Captioning (CC), Audio Description (AD) and Assistive Listening (ALD). Please note that not all titles are compliant with closed captions, assistive listening, and/or audio descriptions. Look for showtimes with AD • ALD • CC labeling or ask any member of our staff for assistance. Our staff has been trained in the use of these devices, and is able to provide support as needed.
Closed Captioning (CC) devices are designed to enhance the deaf or hard of hearing movie-going experience by presenting dialogue as text once the movie begins.
Audio Description (AD) adjustable volume headsets provide an audio track narration once the movie starts, which describes the visual setting and action as it happens.
Assistive Listening Device (ALD) adjustable volume headsets offer amplified presentation audio.
OPEN CAPTION (ON-SCREEN SUBTITLES)
At R/C Theatres, we are committed to making moviegoing more inclusive and accessible for all audiences. Open captions, similar to subtitles, provide on-screen text for dialogue and important sound effects, making it easier for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or those who prefer captions to fully enjoy the cinematic experience. Open caption showings will be available every Sunday and Wednesday for available titles. We are proud to make this offering part of our commitment to inclusive entertainment for all.
To request Open Caption showings outside of the Sunday and Wednesday showtimes, please contact us at least 3 business days in advance.
SENSORY FRIENDLY
On an as-requested basis, we offer showtimes with adjusted lighting and sound to provide a sensory-friendly moviegoing experience. Please contact us at least 7 days in advance to request a sensory-friendly show.
MOVIES IN SPANISH WITH THEATEREARS
Listen to movies in Spanish at the theatre using your smartphone, earbuds, and the THEATEREARS app, available through the App Store and Google Play. Learn more about TheaterEars.
